You could see the war room lean forward. Sheridan Jones at the 251st overall pick is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through wide receiver. Reaching for Murphy II left real value on the table behind him.
The roster is better shaped than it was, with cornerback chief among the fixes. They reloaded the coverage unit in bulk.
Good work on the whole, with wide receiver the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 30 they get a press-man option on the boundary at a price that makes it sweeter. Exactly the need they had to hit.
A conviction pick on Byron Murphy II at pick No. 62 that the board grades a round light. The roster fit checks out.
Kingsley Suamataia in the 93rd overall pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Jahdae Barron in the Round 4 slot is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
They did well to land JT Daniels in Round 5, Pick 38, just ahead of his grade. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Bryson Nesbit at slot 212 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It fills a real need, too.
Circle this one: Sheridan Jones at pick 251 is a fall that decides a draft. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
