The Cowboys did not so much draft Khalid Duke as overpay for him, 47 picks clear of his grade. It sets an uneasy tone for the weekend. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through wide receiver. The Sweat value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere.
Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the wide receiver spot they never got to.

In the 24th pick they get a cornerstone up front. The biggest hole, addressed.
T'Vondre Sweat at slot 56 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It fills a real need, too.
By-the-book stuff, Trey Benson at the Round 3 slot squarely in line with his ranking. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Steele Chambers this early at pick 174. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A real head-scratcher, Andrew Raym in No. 216 is miles ahead of his ranking. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
