The one they had to fix is still broken. The Cowboys left quarterback untouched, and that omission hangs over an otherwise reasonable haul.
They will need Whittington to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a sticky cover corner. Exactly the need they had to hit.
No drama and no debate, Edgerrin Cooper went about where he belonged in pick No. 56. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A straight-up fair deal on McKinnley Jackson at the 87th overall pick, value and slot in agreement. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Fair-plus on Kris Abrams-Draine, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Roger Rosengarten in slot 174. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
No edge and no loss on Blake Watson in Round 6, Pick 37; it is a wash and a sensible one. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
A big swing on Jordan Whittington at No. 245, well ahead of any board in the building. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
