The Cowboys went off the board in a big way for Evan Anderson, 61 picks early. Conviction is one thing; this is another.
For all the activity, linebacker went untouched, which is hard to explain. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Milton III. They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
They reached into another round for Jackson Powers-Johnson, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
No edge and no loss on T'Vondre Sweat in the 56th pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
They read the board right and Malachi Corley was the payoff at the 87th overall pick. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Good price on Malik Washington in slot 124, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They let Joe Milton III come to them and pounced at No. 174. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Evan Anderson at pick 212 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. The roster fit checks out.
Demorie Tate in slot 245 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
