Somebody in pick No. 251 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Cowboys sat still while De'Corian Clark, the No. 219 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B+.
That cornerback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The Dawson Knox pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns.
A modest surplus at the table, banked quietly. They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
No drama and no debate, Leonard Taylor III went about where he belonged in No. 62. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Zak Zinter at pick 93 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A straight-up fair deal on Shemar Turner at the 130th pick, value and slot in agreement. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Jaylan Ford slipping to the 174th overall pick is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
They took Jake Briningstool at par in Round 6, Pick 37, which is nothing to complain about. It fills a real need, too.
De'Corian Clark in slot 251 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
