You can hear the double-takes from here. The Cowboys took Trevin Wallace at pick No. 124, roughly 109 spots before his name belonged. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.
Getting Harden where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. A whole weekend of picks and wide receiver is somehow still a want.
They left with cornerback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 24 they get a wrecking ball inside. A real need, handled.
Zach Frazier in pick No. 56 is fair value, right on his grade. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They liked Braelon Allen enough to skip the value, taking him in Round 3, Pick 31. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
They talked themselves into Trevin Wallace at slot 124, and the board did not agree. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Walter Rouse in No. 174. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
They did well to land Caedan Wallace in the Round 6 slot, just ahead of his grade. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Value said wait; Solomon Byrd in No. 233 says they were not listening. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Circle this one: Myles Harden at the 244th pick is a fall that decides a draft. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
