This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Nic Anderson, the No. 86 name on the board, stolen at pick No. 122.
The cornerback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Every board in the league had Restrepo lower, and that gap is the story. They went 5 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 26 they get a bell-cow for the offense. A real need, handled.
They liked Xavier Restrepo enough to skip the value, taking him in pick 58. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Nothing to complain about; T.J. Sanders went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
A top-tier wide receiver at a bargain, Nic Anderson in the Round 4 slot, plain and simple. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They let Riley Mahlman come to them and pounced at Round 5, Pick 26. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Steal is underselling it; Brady Cook at slot 186 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. The roster fit checks out.
