Dallas Cowboys

Grand theft in slot 148: the Cowboys steal Henderson and grade out a A-.

Call it larceny. TreVeyon Henderson sat on the board until No. 148, and the Cowboys did not need to be asked twice.

The Howard pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast.

Bottom line, with Tetairoa McMillan leading the way, this is a class that should pay off fast and rarely be regretted.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.13 · Pick 13 · Tetairoa McMillan · WR · rank 6
Tetairoa McMillan at the 13th overall pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
R2.15 · Pick 47 · Malaki Starks · S · rank 18
A safety of that caliber at the 47th pick is the definition of value, full stop. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
R3.14 · Pick 78 · Jalon Walker · LB · rank 25
Jalon Walker at slot 78 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
R4.16 · Pick 117 · Rylie Mills · DL · rank 133
They liked Rylie Mills enough to skip the value, taking him in the Round 4 slot. It fills a real need, too.
R5.10 · Pick 148 · TreVeyon Henderson · RB · rank 61
TreVeyon Henderson in Round 5, Pick 10 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R5.13 · Pick 151 · Jake Majors · C · rank 93
Jake Majors at pick No. 151 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
R5.30 · Pick 168 · Harold Perkins Jr. · LB · rank 126
They will replay Harold Perkins Jr. at No. 168 for years; that is how good the value is. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
R5.32 · Pick 170 · Keon Sabb · S · rank 106
Taking Keon Sabb in pick 170 is close to grand larceny; a safety that good had no business lasting this long. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
R5.33 · Pick 171 · Lander Barton · LB · rank 127
Lander Barton in slot 171 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
R6.14 · Pick 189 · Will Howard · QB · rank 238
Will Howard in pick 189 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
R6.34 · Pick 209 · Quincy Riley · CB · rank 220
A premium they did not need to pay, Quincy Riley a notch or two before his time. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
R7.34 · Pick 248 · Terrance Ferguson · TE · rank 208
Somehow Terrance Ferguson was still sitting there in the 248th overall pick, and they pounced on premier tight end value. A need, and now a little less of one.
