Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Cowboys were there to profit. RJ Harvey, the No. 160 name on the board, should have been long gone before the 249th overall pick.

Reaching for Burch left real value on the table behind him. The phones were where this weekend was really won.

For all the activity, tight end went untouched, which is hard to explain. The Cody Barton pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns.

In short, they turned a good board into a better roster, and it shows.
