The rest of the league will want that one back. Tahj Brooks tumbling to the Cowboys in the 209th overall pick is a gift they did not have to think twice about. It lands right in the middle: a C+, no more, no less.
They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through cornerback.
Job largely done: wide receiver settled and 6 of 8 of the wish list covered.
So much rides on Tetairoa McMillan that the real verdict is a season or two away.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 10 they get a difference-maker at receiver. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Fair-plus on Tyler Booker, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
They barely believed it either: Jihaad Campbell still on the board at the Round 3 slot. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Omarr Norman-Lott in the 93rd pick. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Steal is underselling it; Jake Majors at Round 5, Pick 11 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They will replay Cam Skattebo at No. 168 for years; that is how good the value is. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Jaeden Roberts at the 170th overall pick is money in the bank, a offensive lineman taken below his worth. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A straight-up fair deal on Nazir Stackhouse at pick No. 173, value and slot in agreement. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Sonny Styles in No. 186 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
A running back of that caliber at Round 6, Pick 34 is the definition of value, full stop. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Ben Yurosek at the 248th overall pick is the proof. A need, and now a little less of one.
