The one they had to fix is still broken. The Cowboys left quarterback untouched, and that omission hangs over an otherwise reasonable haul. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.
The cost of the Weaver reach is exactly the players who went right after him. The Turner steal is the beam this whole class leans on.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 24 they get a quarterback's worst nightmare, outstanding value to boot.
Patrick Paul at the Round 2 slot is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Jamari Thrash at slot 87 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They took Jarrian Jones at par in pick No. 124, which is nothing to complain about. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Javon Baker at the 174th pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A reach for J.J. Weaver in Round 6, Pick 37; a little patience would have been rewarded. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
A clean, defensible pick in pick 245 with a little surplus value in Nathaniel Watson. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
