The rest of the league will want that one back. J. Michael Sturdivant tumbling to the Cowboys in No. 130 is a gift they did not have to think twice about.
Every board in the league had Henderson lower, and that gap is the story. That running back hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Job largely done: wide receiver settled and 5 of 8 of the wish list covered.
Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get an anchor for the offensive line, and a steal at that. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
The board had Kalen King higher than slot 62, and the cornerback fell to them anyway. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
They will replay Quinn Ewers at pick 93 for years; that is how good the value is. It fills a real need, too.
Steal is underselling it; J. Michael Sturdivant at No. 130 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Cole Bishop at Round 5, Pick 38 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Jason Henderson at the 212th overall pick is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
They paid up for Trey Wedig at the 251st pick when waiting would have done the job. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
