There was a run on nobody at that position, and the Cowboys started one anyway for Taulia Tagovailoa, 62 picks ahead of schedule. A dependable weekend that grades out a B+.
However the rest shakes out, Lassiter at that price is a win they earned. The phones were where this weekend was really won. They punted on linebacker, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 24 they get a home-run threat at receiver at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Kamari Lassiter in the Round 3 slot is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Caedan Wallace. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Taulia Tagovailoa this early at the 213th pick. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
The board fumbled Zion Tupuola-Fetui all the way to Round 7, Pick 11, and they scooped it up. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
A real head-scratcher, Zion Logue in pick No. 242 is miles ahead of his ranking. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
