Call it belief, call it a gut call, but McKinnley Jackson at pick 94 is 29 spots clear of consensus, and that is the headline.
The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Getting Ford where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 31 they get a building block for the line, outstanding value to boot. The biggest hole, addressed.
Jaylen Wright in the 56th overall pick is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. A need, and now a little less of one.
A reach on Andru Phillips in the 87th pick; the board had better options right there. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A real head-scratcher, McKinnley Jackson in pick No. 94 is miles ahead of his ranking. The roster fit checks out.
They went early on Christian Jones in No. 124, and the value did not follow. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They paid a round early for Cornelius Johnson in the Round 5 slot, more than the board wanted. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Jaylan Ford in No. 216. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
No edge and no loss on Andrew Raym in Round 7, Pick 13; it is a wash and a sensible one. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Josh Proctor at pick No. 244 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
