When a board-topper like Luke McCaffrey slides to the Round 6 slot, you do not overthink it, and the Cowboys did not. More right than wrong, and a B to match.
Every board in the league had Tupuola-Fetui lower, and that gap is the story. A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 26 they get a cornerstone up front. The biggest hole, addressed.
You do not let an offensive lineman like Graham Barton reach the 56th pick and blink. They did not. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Ray Davis well ahead of where he belonged. It fills a real need, too.

Zion Tupuola-Fetui in the Round 5 slot is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
A wide receiver of that caliber at No. 174 is the definition of value, full stop. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Ro Torrence at slot 213 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Circle this one: Luke McCaffrey at Round 6, Pick 41 is a fall that decides a draft. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They will replay Jaylan Ford at the 233rd pick for years; that is how good the value is. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Steal is underselling it; Myles Harden at pick No. 244 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
