You can lose a draft before you make a pick. The Cowboys did it at the trade table, overpaying to chase players the board did not price nearly as high. It grades a D-, and the process earned it.

They have staked the next five years on Shedeur Sanders, which is the only story that really matters here. They will regret leaving linebacker for another day if the season turns on it. If Moore pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about.

That is an offensive lineman worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, linebacker very much included.
