It is the swing that defines the weekend: Bryson Eason in No. 211, a good 80 spots before the room expected him.
That is a running back worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. Leaving cornerback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.
They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the cornerback spot they never got to.

Omarion Hampton at the 44th overall pick is money in the bank, a running back taken below his worth. It patches a soft spot without any drama.

Circle this one: Cam Skattebo at the 174th pick is a fall that decides a draft. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
They jumped the gun on Hayden Conner, taking him earlier than his grade liked. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A wild overpay on Bryson Eason in Round 6, Pick 33, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Jake Briningstool is a better player than the 249th overall pick suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
