When a board-topper like Tahj Washington slides to slot 216, you do not overthink it, and the Cowboys did not.
Every board in the league had Jibunor lower, and that gap is the story. They punted on cornerback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Job largely done: wide receiver settled and 5 of 8 of the wish list covered.
The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 24th pick they get an anchor for the offensive line at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
By-the-book stuff, Kingsley Suamataia at No. 56 squarely in line with his ranking. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Trey Benson at pick No. 87 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Jordan Jefferson at the Round 5 slot is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
The board fumbled Tahj Washington all the way to Round 6, Pick 41, and they scooped it up. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
JD Bertrand slid further than he should have, and slot 233 is lovely value for the linebacker. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They reached into another round for Richard Jibunor, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. This was not a hole anyone had circled.
