A solid, sensible weekend for the Cowboys: B-.

There was a run on nobody at that position, and the Cowboys started one anyway for McKade Mettauer, 25 picks ahead of schedule.
Getting Ulofoshio where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 29th pick they get an anchor for the offensive line. The biggest hole, addressed.
A straight-up fair deal on T'Vondre Sweat at slot 56, value and slot in agreement. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Audric Estime at pick 87 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
They paid up for Jaden Hicks at pick No. 99 when waiting would have done the job. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Drake Nugent in Round 4, Pick 24 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They paid sticker price for Cam Hart in the Round 4 slot, and that is fine. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A premium they did not need to pay, Jaylan Ford a notch or two before his time. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Taking Edefuan Ulofoshio in pick 174 is close to grand larceny; a linebacker that good had no business lasting this long. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They took Isaiah Neyor at par in slot 212, which is nothing to complain about. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
McKade Mettauer at pick No. 245 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
