The board owed the Cowboys one, and it paid up: Myles Harden, the No. 209 name on the board, sitting there at Round 7, Pick 13 like a gift left on the doorstep. It nets out to a B, which feels about right.
A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want. Reaching for Knight left real value on the table behind him. Job largely done: wide receiver settled and 6 of 8 of the wish list covered.
A modest surplus at the table, banked quietly.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 32 they get a building block for the line. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Good price on Junior Colson in the 56th pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
A tidy little value on Braden Fiske in pick No. 64, a step better than break-even. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
A straight-up fair deal on Christian Mahogany at slot 99, value and slot in agreement. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Isaiah Davis in Round 5, Pick 18 is fair value, right on his grade. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
A tidy bit of business in the 155th overall pick, where Ainias Smith graded well above the range. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Dwight McGlothern at the Round 5 slot is money in the bank, a cornerback taken below his worth. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Value with a capital V on Julian Pearl in No. 216, a genuine coup. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Myles Harden at Round 7, Pick 13 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Tyrice Knight at pick No. 244 is a conviction pick that outran the value. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
