The Cowboys did not so much draft Evan Anderson as overpay for him, 67 picks clear of his grade. It sets an uneasy tone for the weekend.
They will regret leaving wide receiver for another day if the season turns on it. They banked enough surplus on Gore Jr. to cover a lot of smaller sins. On the needs board they went 4 of 8, with offensive lineman the one that mattered most.
Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the wide receiver spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 24 they get a building block for the line at a price that makes it sweeter. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Nothing to complain about; Edgerrin Cooper went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
