Good, not great, for the Cowboys: B-.

The war room fell hard for Evan Anderson, and it showed at the Round 7 slot: 39 picks ahead of a board that had other ideas. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.
The McCaffrey pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. They will regret leaving cornerback for another day if the season turns on it.
Good work on the whole, with cornerback the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 24th overall pick they get protection for the quarterback. Exactly the need they had to hit.
They paid up for Patrick Paul at the Round 2 slot when waiting would have done the job. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Blake Corum in slot 87. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Luke McCaffrey in No. 174 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
JD Bertrand in pick No. 216 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Value said wait; Solomon Byrd in the 233rd pick says they were not listening. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Evan Anderson in the 244th overall pick is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. It fills a real need, too.
