They will call it conviction in the building and a reach everywhere else: Nathan Pickering, 125 picks early at pick 244.
The Smith steal is the beam this whole class leans on. They will regret leaving cornerback for another day if the season turns on it.
They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 24th overall pick they get a long-term starter on the line, and a steal at that. The biggest hole, addressed.
They talked themselves into Blake Corum at Round 2, Pick 24, and the board did not agree. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A real head-scratcher, Beaux Limmer in slot 87 is miles ahead of his ranking. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Ainias Smith at pick 174 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Nice patience on Steele Chambers, who had no business lasting to the Round 6 slot. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Trajan Jeffcoat at the 233rd pick is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Nathan Pickering this early at the 244th pick. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
