Somebody took the Cowboys to the cleaners. The deals they made bled real value, and the whole class wears it. A D+ that will need time and luck to look better.
That tight end hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. On value alone, Giddens makes the weekend a net positive. On the needs board they went 7 of 8, with wide receiver the one that mattered most.
Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, tight end very much included.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 7 they get a No. 1 receiver. The biggest hole, addressed.
In the 26th overall pick they get a lockdown presence outside at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Fair-plus on Dontay Corleone, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Somehow Lander Barton was still sitting there in slot 90, and they pounced on premier linebacker value. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Dylan Fairchild in Round 4, Pick 26 is fair value, right on his grade. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
You do not let a running back like DJ Giddens reach pick No. 154 and blink. They did not. A need, and now a little less of one.
Jonah Monheim at the Round 5 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Miller Moss in Round 6, Pick 26. It fills a real need, too.
