Somehow the biggest item on the list survived the weekend. The Cowboys never addressed cornerback, and it is the kind of gap that lingers. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.
If Rogers pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. That Magee pick is the receipt they will wave around later.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.

In the Round 1 slot they get a plug-and-play piece up front. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Kingsley Suamataia in pick No. 56 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Trey Benson in No. 87 is fair value, right on his grade. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Justin Rogers at the 174th overall pick is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. The roster fit checks out.
Nathaniel Watson at Round 6, Pick 41 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Jordan Magee at the 233rd pick is the proof. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Bub Means at slot 244 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
