The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Michael Taaffe, pick 92, roughly 23 picks past where he belonged. No fireworks, but a solid B.
That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. They went 4 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 12 they get the heartbeat of the defense. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
In Round 1, Pick 20 they get a three-down second-level presence at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Michael Taaffe at the 92nd pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
A tidy bit of business in the 112th overall pick, where Malik Muhammad graded well above the range. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Isaiah World slipping to pick 152 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
