Somewhere a general manager is explaining how TreVeyon Henderson got past him. The Cowboys do not have to explain a thing at pick No. 150. Little to argue with here, and the A- says so.
Zuhn III has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. The Chad Muma pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns.
Add it up and few war rooms did better this weekend, Mason Graham and all.
Pick-by-Pick
Taking Mason Graham in pick 36 is close to grand larceny; an interior defensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
They paid sticker price for JT Tuimoloau in the Round 2 slot, and that is fine. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
No edge and no loss on Marcus Mbow in the 51st overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
You do not let a wide receiver like Tre Harris reach No. 76 and blink. They did not. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Trey Amos in pick No. 88 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Gunnar Helm at Round 4, Pick 24 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
They robbed the room for TreVeyon Henderson here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Tyler Shough at slot 170. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Lander Barton in pick 172 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Trey Zuhn III at No. 174 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
