The rest of the league will want that one back. Johnny Wilson tumbling to the Cowboys in No. 93 is a gift they did not have to think twice about. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.
For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. Reaching for Murphy II left real value on the table behind him. Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 30 they get a centerfielder for the defense at fair value. More want than need.
They liked Byron Murphy II enough to skip the value, taking him in slot 62. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Circle this one: Johnny Wilson at Round 3, Pick 30 is a fall that decides a draft. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Value with a capital V on Khyree Jackson in No. 130, a genuine coup. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
By-the-book stuff, Aki Ogunbiyi at the Round 5 slot squarely in line with his ranking. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
A top-tier wide receiver at a bargain, De'Corian Clark in the 212th overall pick, plain and simple. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They barely believed it either: Nathaniel Watson still on the board at pick No. 251. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
