Start where it matters. The Cowboys took Shedeur Sanders to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one.
The Bernard value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. Leaving linebacker unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Job largely done: wide receiver settled and 4 of 8 of the wish list covered.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 26 they get a long-term answer under center, and a steal at that. A real need, handled.
Jordan Hancock in pick No. 58 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Tate Ratledge in the 90th overall pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Aireontae Ersery at the 122nd pick is money in the bank, a offensive lineman taken below his worth. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Jonah Monheim in No. 154 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Circle this one: Germie Bernard at the Round 6 slot is a fall that decides a draft. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
