The Dolphins cashed the board's mistake on Brade: B.

The Dolphins spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Beau Brade, the No. 134 name on the board, in Round 6, Pick 9. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.

They will need Dankwah to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The dealing nudged the ledger their way without much fuss.

They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.28 · Pick 28 · Nate Wiggins · CB · rank 20
In the 28th overall pick they get a sticky cover corner, and a steal at that. More want than need.
R2.28 · Pick 60 · Christian Haynes · OG · rank 65
No drama and no debate, Christian Haynes went about where he belonged in pick 60. A need, and now a little less of one.
R2.30 · Pick 62 · Devontez Walker · WR · rank 70
Devontez Walker at No. 62 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
R3.30 · Pick 93 · Mekhi Wingo · DT · rank 107
Mekhi Wingo in the Round 3 slot is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
R5.22 · Pick 158 · James Williams · LB · rank 124
Somehow James Williams was still sitting there in the 158th pick, and they pounced on premier linebacker value. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
R6.9 · Pick 184 · Beau Brade · S · rank 134
Beau Brade in Round 6, Pick 9 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
R6.23 · Pick 198 · Zion Tupuola-Fetui · DE-EDGE · rank 216
Zion Tupuola-Fetui at pick No. 198 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R7.21 · Pick 241 · Anim Dankwah · OT · rank 278
Anim Dankwah in slot 241 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
