Give the war room a raise for the dealing alone. The Giants came out ahead on every exchange that mattered, and it was not close.
The Coleman Jr. value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. The interior defensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Adding Rashawn Slater by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies.
They left with safety solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
Add it up and few war rooms did better this weekend, Arvell Reese and all.
Pick-by-Pick
They let Jeremiyah Love come to them and pounced at pick 10. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
In Round 1, Pick 22 they get a sideline-to-sideline linebacker, and a steal at that. Need was not the driver here.
A tidy bit of business in pick No. 37, where Dillon Thieneman graded well above the range. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Emmanuel Pregnon in the 55th overall pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A offensive lineman of that caliber at slot 105 is the definition of value, full stop. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
They paid sticker price for CJ Daniels in No. 145, and that is fine. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Bryce Boettcher at the 186th overall pick is the proof. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
Circle this one: Kevin Coleman Jr. at slot 192 is a fall that decides a draft. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Dae'Quan Wright at the 193rd pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
