Call it larceny. Jeff Caldwell sat on the board until the 231st overall pick, and the Seahawks did not need to be asked twice. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B+.
They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Small wins on the phones, but wins all the same.
Stockpiling next year's capital is patient, if unglamorous, asset work. On the needs board they went 5 of 8, with edge rusher the one that mattered most.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
A market-rate edge rusher, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Derrick Moore. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Nice patience on Jake Slaughter, who had no business lasting to slot 64. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
