The Bears treated their own grade as gospel and everyone else's as noise, spending Round 4, Pick 29 on Mikail Kamara a full 23 spots early. A dependable weekend that grades out a B-.
Reese at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through running back.
Good work on the whole, with running back the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 25 they get a three-down second-level presence at a price that makes it sweeter.
A.J. Haulcy in the 57th overall pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. It adds depth where they could use a little.
A conviction pick on Jacob Rodriguez at No. 60 that the board grades a round light. A need, and now a little less of one.
They paid a round early for Darrell Jackson Jr. in the 89th pick, more than the board wanted. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
They talked themselves into Mikail Kamara at the Round 4 slot, and the board did not agree. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A premium they did not need to pay, Bryce Foster a notch or two before his time. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Nolan Rucci in Round 7, Pick 25 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. It fills a real need, too.
