The Dolphins clearly saw something nobody else did in Eyabi Okie-Anoma, taking him 44 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced. A dependable weekend that grades out a B-.
They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. They squeezed a little extra out of every move they made. They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick-by-Pick
No drama and no debate, Troy Fautanu went about where he belonged in the 23rd overall pick. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
They did well to land Payton Wilson in the 55th pick, just ahead of his grade. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
They paid sticker price for Calen Bullock in slot 86, and that is fine. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
The board had cheaper options than Javion Cohen at pick No. 158, and it noticed. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
By-the-book stuff, Cornelius Johnson at No. 184 squarely in line with his ranking. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Garret Greenfield well ahead of where he belonged. The roster fit checks out.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Eyabi Okie-Anoma. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
