The trade table was where it all came apart. The Cowboys shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill. Too much went sideways, and the D is the honest tally.
They will regret leaving wide receiver for another day if the season turns on it. On value alone, Milroe makes the weekend a net positive.
The verdict is not kind, and fairly so; this class has a hill to climb.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 7 they get a problem off the edge. Need was not the driver here.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Harold Perkins Jr. at No. 26 is the proof. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Jalen Milroe at pick No. 90 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A need, and now a little less of one.
Nicholas Singleton in the Round 4 slot is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. The roster fit checks out.
Ar'maj Reed-Adams at slot 154 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A market-rate interior defensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Tim Smith. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
