The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Kaden Prather, pick No. 245, roughly 39 picks past where he belonged. It washes out to a C-, no better and no worse.
The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. They will need Allen to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.
That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
If Amarius Mims and a couple of the gambles land, hindsight will be kinder than this grade.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 24th pick they get a building block for the line. The biggest hole, addressed.
No edge and no loss on Edgerrin Cooper in pick No. 56; it is a wash and a sensible one. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They reached into another round for Braelon Allen, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
They took Jarrian Jones at par in Round 4, Pick 24, which is nothing to complain about. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Kitan Oladapo at slot 174 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Aki Ogunbiyi in the 212th overall pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Kaden Prather in pick 245 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
