Somehow the biggest item on the list survived the weekend. The Cowboys never addressed tight end, and it is the kind of gap that lingers. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
The Guyton steal is the beam this whole class leans on. Every board in the league had Allen lower, and that gap is the story. They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 30th pick they get a weapon on the perimeter. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Tyler Guyton at the 62nd overall pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A reach on Braelon Allen in pick No. 93; the board had better options right there. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
A market-rate cornerback, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Khyree Jackson. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
A clean, defensible pick in pick 174 with a little surplus value in Joe Milton III. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
They paid sticker price for Josh Proctor in the Round 6 slot, and that is fine. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Curtis Jacobs in No. 251 is fair value, right on his grade. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
