Boards are made to be trusted, and the Cowboys shredded theirs for Zion Logue. He came off 53 spots early, and the room will hear about it. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.
Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. That is an offensive lineman worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
No drama and no debate, Keon Coleman went about where he belonged in pick No. 36. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Nothing to complain about; T.J. Tampa went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Kiran Amegadjie slipping to the Round 3 slot is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Value with a capital V on Sedrick Van Pran in No. 87, a genuine coup. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A straight-up fair deal on Audric Estime at the 100th pick, value and slot in agreement. A need, and now a little less of one.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Kendall Milton. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
A quiet steal in slot 216: Jaylan Ford for less than the market said. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Zion Logue at Round 7, Pick 13 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Tyrice Knight in No. 244 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
