Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The Cowboys spent pick 245 on Kendall Milton, a name the board had a full 163 spots lower.
They punted on wide receiver, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Cornerback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 24 they get a building block for the line, even if it was a touch early. The biggest hole, addressed.
They went early on Mekhi Wingo in the 56th pick, and the value did not follow. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Mike Sainristil at the 87th overall pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They paid a round early for Cedric Gray in Round 4, Pick 24, more than the board wanted. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
LaDarius Henderson at No. 174 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the offensive lineman. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
