Boards are made to be trusted, and the Cowboys shredded theirs for Charles Turner III. He came off 65 spots early, and the room will hear about it. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.
King at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 29th pick they get a No. 1 receiver, even if it was a touch early. The biggest hole, addressed.
Jordan Morgan at pick No. 56 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
A straight-up fair deal on Jaylen Wright at slot 73, value and slot in agreement. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
A wild overpay on Maason Smith in Round 3, Pick 24, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
They will replay Kalen King at pick 174 for years; that is how good the value is. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They went early on Trevin Wallace in No. 216, and the value did not follow. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
