The Cowboys went off the board in a big way for Donell Harris Jr., 43 picks early. Conviction is one thing; this is another.
The Lassiter pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. They punted on linebacker, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
Good work on the whole, with linebacker the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
Taliese Fuaga in slot 24 lands just on the right side of the ledger. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Kamari Lassiter in the Round 2 slot is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
The board had Ricky Pearsall higher than the 87th overall pick, and the wide receiver fell to them anyway. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
A big swing on Braelon Allen at No. 124, well ahead of any board in the building. It fills a real need, too.
Joe Milton III in pick 174 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Donell Harris Jr. at pick No. 212 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Value said wait; McKade Mettauer in No. 245 says they were not listening. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
