The Frank Crum selection is the head-turner. The Cowboys reached 78 spots for him, and it will define how this weekend is remembered.
The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. However the rest shakes out, Liufau at that price is a win they earned.
For all the activity, cornerback went untouched, which is hard to explain.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but cornerback.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 32 they get a blindside protector at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Keon Coleman at pick No. 56 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Trey Benson in pick 87 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Javon Foster in Round 3, Pick 32 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They robbed the room for Marist Liufau here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
They reached a country mile for Logan Lee at the Round 6 slot, and the board is aghast. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Value said wait; Edefuan Ulofoshio in the Round 7 slot says they were not listening. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They talked themselves into Frank Crum at pick No. 242, and the board did not agree. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
