You build a draft on nights like this. TJ Hall had no business being available in slot 257, and the Broncos did the only sane thing and turned in the card. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.
They will regret leaving linebacker for another day if the season turns on it. The roster is better shaped than it was, with interior defensive lineman chief among the fixes.
The offense got the lion's share of the attention.
Good work on the whole, with linebacker the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
Zachariah Branch at the 62nd pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Sam Roush at slot 108 is the proof. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Darrell Jackson Jr. at pick No. 111 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
