The Commanders treated their own grade as gospel and everyone else's as noise, spending the 71st pick on Markel Bell a full 43 spots early. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.
Leaving tight end unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The Virgil value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere.
Good work on the whole, with tight end the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 7 they get a bendy edge with upside at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Markel Bell. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A quiet steal in Round 5, Pick 7: Harold Perkins Jr. for less than the market said. A minor need, but a need all the same.
They robbed the room for Reggie Virgil here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Taking Ephesians Prysock in the 209th overall pick is close to grand larceny; a cornerback that good had no business lasting this long. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
