Washington Commanders

Good, not great, for the Commanders: B-.

The Commanders treated their own grade as gospel and everyone else's as noise, spending the 71st pick on Markel Bell a full 43 spots early. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.

Leaving tight end unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The Virgil value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere.

Good work on the whole, with tight end the one box left unchecked.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.7 · Pick 7 · Keldric Faulk · DE-EDGE · rank 13
In No. 7 they get a bendy edge with upside at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
R3.7 · Pick 71 · Markel Bell · OT · rank 114
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Markel Bell. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
R5.7 · Pick 147 · Harold Perkins Jr. · LB · rank 134
A quiet steal in Round 5, Pick 7: Harold Perkins Jr. for less than the market said. A minor need, but a need all the same.
R6.6 · Pick 187 · Reggie Virgil · WR · rank 169
They robbed the room for Reggie Virgil here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R6.28 · Pick 209 · Ephesians Prysock · CB · rank 191
Taking Ephesians Prysock in the 209th overall pick is close to grand larceny; a cornerback that good had no business lasting this long. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
R7.7 · Pick 223 · Kaelon Black · RB · rank 226
Kaelon Black at pick 223 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
