The Dolphins spent the pick that matters most on Ty Simpson, and a roster that has been waiting on a passer can start to take shape.
That is a wide receiver worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher.
The Iheanachor reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. Job largely done: quarterback settled and 7 of 8 of the wish list covered.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 11 they get their quarterback of the future, reach and all. Exactly the need they had to hit.
In No. 30 they get a plug-and-play piece up front, even if it was a touch early.
Nothing to complain about; Emmanuel McNeil-Warren went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A minor itch, scratched.
A top-tier interior defensive lineman at a bargain, Lee Hunter in the 75th overall pick, plain and simple. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A offensive lineman of that caliber at the 87th pick is the definition of value, full stop. It fills a real need, too.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Max Klare in pick 90. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
They will replay Germie Bernard at slot 94 for years; that is how good the value is. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
You do not let a running back like Emmett Johnson reach Round 4, Pick 30 and blink. They did not. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Hezekiah Masses at No. 151. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
No edge and no loss on Jeremiah Wright in slot 227; it is a wash and a sensible one. The roster fit checks out.
They paid sticker price for Aiden Fisher in Round 7, Pick 22, and that is fine. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
