The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Cowboys reached some 82 spots for Trey Wedig, and value like that does not grow back. A D that will need time and luck to look better.

Landing Neal that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. The whole projection now runs through Shedeur Sanders; hit there and everything else looks smarter. The trades bled value they could not afford to lose.

Leaving cornerback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, cornerback very much included.
