Dallas Cowboys

Milum should have been long gone. The Cowboys pounced, and earned a B+.

The Cowboys spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Wyatt Milum, the No. 13 name on the board, in the 135th pick. More right than wrong, and a B+ to match.

The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.13 · Pick 13 · Travis Hunter · CB · rank 1
In No. 13 they get a potential shutdown corner, and a steal at that. Exactly the need they had to hit.
R2.26 · Pick 58 · Ashton Jeanty · RB · rank 2
Circle this one: Ashton Jeanty at pick 58 is a fall that decides a draft. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
R3.14 · Pick 78 · Walter Nolen · DT · rank 12
The board fumbled Walter Nolen all the way to Round 3, Pick 14, and they scooped it up. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
R3.31 · Pick 95 · T.J. Sanders · DT · rank 27
T.J. Sanders at slot 95 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
R4.26 · Pick 127 · Jihaad Campbell · LB · rank 40
Jihaad Campbell at the 127th overall pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
R4.34 · Pick 135 · Wyatt Milum · OT · rank 13
Wyatt Milum in the Round 4 slot is a gift, value that borders on unfair. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
R5.8 · Pick 145 · Xavier Restrepo · WR · rank 49
They barely believed it either: Xavier Restrepo still on the board at the 145th pick. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
R5.11 · Pick 148 · Dylan Fairchild · OG · rank 56
They will replay Dylan Fairchild at pick No. 148 for years; that is how good the value is. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
R5.31 · Pick 168 · Cam Skattebo · RB · rank 114
A running back of that caliber at the 168th pick is the definition of value, full stop. A need, and now a little less of one.
R5.33 · Pick 170 · Rylie Mills · DL · rank 135
Steal is underselling it; Rylie Mills at the Round 5 slot is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
R5.34 · Pick 171 · Antwaun Powell-Ryland · DL-EDGE · rank 158
They read the board right and Antwaun Powell-Ryland was the payoff at pick No. 171. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
R6.14 · Pick 189 · Simeon Barrow Jr. · DL · rank 171
A top-tier interior defensive lineman at a bargain, Simeon Barrow Jr. in No. 189, plain and simple. It fills a real need, too.
R7.11 · Pick 227 · David Walker · LB-EDGE · rank 163
David Walker at slot 227 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
