You could see the war room lean forward. Mason Taylor at pick 170 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did.
They are betting Miller proves the room right and everyone else wrong. A whole weekend of picks and cornerback is somehow still a want.
The future picks help the war chest more than the win-now roster.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.

In pick No. 27 they get a difference-maker at receiver. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Malaki Starks at No. 44 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It adds depth where they could use a little.
They robbed the room for TreVeyon Henderson here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
The board fumbled Cam Skattebo all the way to the Round 5 slot, and they scooped it up. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Taking Smael Mondon Jr. in pick 168 is close to grand larceny; a linebacker that good had no business lasting this long. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
They will replay Mason Taylor at Round 5, Pick 33 for years; that is how good the value is. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Cody Simon at slot 173 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
