The Cowboys lost the trade war and it was not close, handing partners the better end again and again. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.
The Jones steal is the beam this whole class leans on. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped wide receiver, which is a strange place to end up.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick-by-Pick
By-the-book stuff, Kingsley Suamataia at the 56th overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Blake Corum in slot 87. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
A conviction pick on Tanor Bortolini at No. 174 that the board grades a round light. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Trente Jones at pick 216 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Caedan Wallace in the 233rd pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Michael Barrett at Round 7, Pick 24 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
