The Cowboys put a flag in the ground for Barryn Sorrell, 100 picks before anyone else would have, and the value took the hit. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
Tuten falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. The cornerback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick-by-Pick
Ashton Jeanty in pick 12 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
By-the-book stuff, Tre Harris at No. 44 squarely in line with his ranking. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
The board fumbled Alfred Collins all the way to pick No. 76, and they scooped it up. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
They jumped the gun on Chase Lundt, taking him earlier than his grade liked. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They took Jack Nelson at par in the 170th overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A reach on Upton Stout in the 172nd pick; the board had better options right there. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Tyler Shough in Round 5, Pick 35 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It fills a real need, too.
Somehow Bhayshul Tuten was still sitting there in pick 190, and they pounced on premier running back value. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
A wild overpay on Barryn Sorrell in No. 211, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
The board had cheaper options than Nick Martin at the Round 7 slot, and it noticed. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
